A Journey of Faith and Bull Riding for Veterans
The goal of the 3-day Bible & Bull Riding Clinic is to provide veteran bull riders with a unique opportunity to grow both their bull riding skills and their faith. Held at Wise County Cowboy Church in Decatur, TX, this event combines intensive bull riding training with spiritual development, fostering a supportive environment where veterans can connect with Christ and with each other. Led by experienced coaches and supported by the 8 Seconds to Glory Bull Riding Ministry team, participants will receive personalized training tailored to their skill level, ensuring a comprehensive and meaningful experience.
The mission of the clinic is to glorify God while equipping veterans with the tools they need to excel (or start) in the sport of bull riding and deepen their relationship with Jesus. Through a blend of practical training sessions, Bible studies, and community activities, the event aims to plant seeds of faith in the hearts of all attendees. By the end of the weekend, participants will not only have honed their riding abilities but also experienced spiritual growth and a renewed sense of purpose in their lives.
For veterans, this clinic offers more than just an opportunity to improve bull riding skills—it provides a powerful avenue for personal growth, healing, and spiritual renewal. This 3-day clinic is designed to foster camaraderie among fellow veterans who understand the unique challenges you face. Through daily devotionals, Bible studies, and supportive community interactions, you’ll find a place to reconnect with your faith and explore the teachings of Christ. The event’s mission is to strengthen your body and soul, helping you rediscover a sense of purpose and resilience that transcends the arena, equipping you to face life’s trials with newfound courage and hope.

History of Bull Riding for Veterans at WCCC
This ain’t our first rodeo!
In 2017, WCCC Hosted a Warriors And Rodeo (W.A.R) event for bull riding veterans to receive complimentary training with PBR world champion, Mike Lee as the coach. This event was impactful for several bull rider veterans in attendance that found a relationship with Jesus and grew their skills. This is important, as this type of school is designated for a class of rider that is getting started in bull riding later in life.
Testimony from Brennan (Gator) Palmiter:
“This was a pivotal part of my journey that led back to Christ. For many of us veterans, we are searching for something after we leave our military brotherhood. For myself, I found fulfillment in bull riding that satisfied the need of adrenaline and discovered the family that is rodeo. I believe that for many veterans, rodeo and Bull riding is exactly that. However, every school I entered was focused on young guys who had been riding for years. The WAR WCCC event was the first I found that was geared for those like me getting a late start to riding bulls. Even more importantly, it was at the time when I needed God the most and didn’t know where or how to search for him. This event showed me other Christian men who had been through similar experiences in war and a church body that was unique in environment and different from churches I experienced in the past.”
